Tricks of the ego!

"صغيرٌ يطلبُ الكِبَرَ .. وشيخٌ ودّ لو صَغُرَ

وخالٍ يشتهي عملا ً.. وذو عملٍ به ضَجَرَ

ورب المال في تعب .. وفي تعب من افتقرَ

وذو الأولاد مهمومٌ .. وطالبهم قد انفطرَ

ومن فقد الجمال شكي .. وقد يشكو الذي بَهِرَ

ويشقى المرء منهزما .. ولا يرتاح منتصرا

ويُبغَى المجدُ في لهفٍ .. فإن يُظفَر به فَتَرَ

شُكاةٌ مالها حَكَمٌ .. سوى الخصمين إن حضرا

فهل حاروا مع الأقدار .. أم هم حيروا القدرَ ؟ " - #عباس_العقاد

The child wants to grow older...

and the old man wants to be young again!

And the unemployed wants to work...

While the employed is fed up with the work he has!

The rich man is consumed with keeping his wealth

And the poor man is consumed with making a living!

And those who have kids worry,

And those who don't have a heartache(desiring kids)!

And she who doesn't have beauty complains,

And she who does also complains (wanting to impress people with something other than her beauty)

And he who was defeated suffers bitterness,

And he who was victorious may suffer restlessness too (trying to keep his victory!)

And while everyone aspires for glory,

Once its attained, the joy ceases to be the same!

Complainers that can't find #peace,

For they are never happy at either ends of the spectrum!

Is it fate that has confused them?
